Failure is Not Final
“It is not what happens to you that matters. It’s how you respond to what happens to you that makes the difference.” — Zig Ziglar

“Whenever you face something in life that looks like a tramendous obstacle, there is a huge opportunity.” These are the words of Roger Crawford.
So what is it about Crowford that you can learn from? First he is a motivational speaker and a consultant. He has written two books and travels across the country. He works with fortune 500 companies, national and state associations, and schools. Maybe those descriptions do not talk to you at all. Okay, how about we continue and find the connection to what could be the best thing for your life. The one thing that will jolt you and create a comeback for your success.
Before becoming a top notch consultant, Crawford played tennis for the Loyola Marymount University. He later become a proffesional tennis player certified by the United States Professional Tennis Association. Now, listen to this. Roger Crawford has only one finger on his right hand and two on his left. He has no left leg and he also has two toes on his right leg.

The only person who has the ability to decide whether a failure or a disability is parmanent or temporary is YOU. The only person who decides whether a failure is fatal or just the beginning is YOU. No matter the extent of your failure, you can come out of it even better. What cannot kill you, can only make you better, healthier, happier, skillful, aggressive, determined and reselient.

From the tennis court, let us move to the Nasi concentration camp. In his book Man’s Search For Meaning, Viktor Frankl, narrates his gruesome and torturing experience at the Auschwitz camp. The overarching lesson in the book is that forces beyond your control can take away everything you possess except the freedom to choose.
For Crowford, he did not choose to be born with the ectrodactyly condition. In fact, his father raised him not to wallow in the self pity city. He told him, “You’re only as handicapped as you want to be.”
Has failure pinned you down? Has dissapointment stared its ugly face on you? Has blockers stood in your way to success? Has critics dampen your enthusiasm to forge ahead? Has disability squeezed out all your determination to be what you have always wanted to be? Has sickness taken away your smile? Has the downfall locked your passion, freedom and ability to start again? You are as “failure-handicapped” as you want to be.
The good news is here. You can install the Crawford mentality and Frankl response-ability software into your life. Today, is the best time to change your operating system. Now is that time to pick yourself up because you have the most important key to your success- Your response-ability.
No one and nothing has the power to determine who you will become. No situation, no circumstances, no failure, no strike-out, no misses has the power to write your story off except YOU
